My Name is Donna Scouten. I am writing this as of Dec. 5, 2007. I understand that many
of you will think that this is a very unorthodox Christmas wish. Let me explain:
I am currently going through a divorce in which
I had to walk away from everything that we had worked all of our married life for. I
am a single parent now. I also am trying to pay many of the joint bills that
we accumulated as I feel obligated to the debts that we incurred and I would like to avoid having to file for bankruptcy. I was struggling with this but maintaining.
I found out on November 30 that I am now unemployed! Now the real crisis
begins. No job, no money, no Christmas for my son!! I have been employed in the
mortgage industry for over 20 years, and as many of you know there are no jobs in that field right now. This brings me to my very unorthodox proposal.
I would like to ask anyone receiving this email
to LOAN me one dollar. ($1) I am not the type of person who asks for help from anyone.
I was raised to believe that you do what you can with what you have. Having
said that I also know that I need to do something NOW in order to have Christmas for my son and get back on my feet, for that
reason I thought of this. If everyone receiving this email would loan me $1.00
I will be able to accomplish my Christmas wish. I feel that there are enough people out there who still believe that the best
way for us to help each other is one on one. I promise that everyone that loans me this $1 will be paid back! I have listed my contact information below including my phone number to again show that this is a real situation
and not a scam or hoax.
I have also set up a website where I will list
the names of everyone that loans me $1 and post the date that it is mailed back to them, to again show that this is not a
hoax or a scam. You can find this website at: http://donnascouten.tripod.com/.
If you do not want your name listed please let me know.
As I am writing this it occurs to me maybe this
is a small way for each of us to test our current faith in humanity. I am testing
my faith that there are people who want to help when they can and you can test your faith that there are honest people out
there that will pay back a loan when it is given.
If this letter bothers you in any way disregard
it and please accept my apology. It is not meant to be a plea for a hand out, I am only asking for a “hand up”.
Wishing you and your family a very happy and health
holiday season!!!!
